Prof. Hirokazu Yoshikawa presented at the UNGA80 Early Childhood Peace Consortium STOP WAR on Children NOW! event

It’s hard to put into words what it felt like to sit with those stories of children living through war. We left the UNGA80 Early Childhood Peace Consortium STOP WAR on Children NOW! event shaken, humbled, and more determined.

Prof. Hirokazu Yoshikawa said it best: “After what we’ve heard today, I’m almost speechless. the stories remind us that evidence comes in many forms, it is rooted in human stories and human experience, and we have to keep that in mind as we think about action that is based on many forms of evidence, and about the many forms of dehumanization, exclusion, and killing.”

- Turning evidence into action starts with protecting children’s rights and dignity.
- Investing in early childhood development is one of the most powerful, evidence-based strategies to break cycles of violence and build sustainable peace in conflict-affected societies.
