The Play to Learn team has published a paper on Fathers’ Engagement with and perceptions of child play: Evidence from the Rohingya camps

We are pleased to share a new article from our Play to Learn team, published in "Early Childhood Research Quarterly", that examines fathers’ engagement with child play in refugee settings, drawing on data from families living in Cox’s Bazar.

While early childhood development has gained global traction, evidence on fatherhood, particularly in contexts of displacement, remains thin. This study looks closely at how fathers understand play, how displacement shapes their involvement, and why this matters for children’s socioemotional development.

The work reflects years of sustained collaboration with partners across contexts. Our deepest thanks to the communities who shared their time with us and to the The LEGO Foundation for their support. Congratulations to the authors, Fatima T. Zahra, Ph.D., Shikhty Sunny, Sneha Bolisetty, and Hirokazu Yoshikawa.
